O2 Box Midwest Recognizes Hyperbaric Awareness Month 2026
May is Hyperbaric Awareness Month, and O2 Box Midwest is proud to be part of the conversation.
Established to elevate public understanding of hyperbaric oxygen therapy across the United States, Hyperbaric Awareness Month brings together wellness professionals, healthcare communities, and curious individuals to learn more about what hyperbaric oxygen therapy is, who it is for, and how it fits into modern wellness.
As the exclusive Midwest distributor of O2 Box Inc. of Japan, we are using this month to do exactly that — share straightforward education, answer common questions, and help wellness professionals across our 17-state territory understand how mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy can fit into the spaces and practices they have already built.
Why This Month Matters for the Midwest
The Midwest wellness community is just beginning to discover what professionals around the world have known for decades. Mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been used globally for over 25 years in wellness centers, recovery studios, athletic facilities, and professional performance environments. In many parts of the world it is a standard offering. In the Midwest, we are just getting started.
Hyperbaric Awareness Month gives us a reason to open that conversation more broadly and meet people where they are, whether they are a chiropractic clinic owner researching new modalities, a med spa looking to differentiate, or an individual who has never heard of mHBOT before today.
What Is Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?
Mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy, or mHBOT, works by gently increasing the air pressure around you. At 1.3 ATA, the pressure level the O2 Box is designed around, your body is able to take in more oxygen than it would at standard atmospheric pressure.
That oxygen supports your body's natural processes. Circulation. Cellular energy. Recovery. General wellness. Everything your body does every day, with more of what it already runs on.
Sessions in the O2 Box are quiet, non-invasive, and comfortable. You sit upright in a spacious, room-like environment. You can use your phone, work on your laptop, or simply relax. There are no needles, no medications, and no downtime required.
Who Is Using the O2 Box
The O2 Box is designed for wellness environments across a wide range of industries and individuals. Chiropractic clinics are using it to complement adjustments and support whole-body recovery. Med spas are pairing it with facials and injectables as a premium recovery experience. Gyms and recovery studios are offering it as a daily session their members keep coming back for. Corporate wellness programs are installing it as a high-impact employee benefit. And individuals are bringing it home for personal wellness and longevity support.
The common thread is oxygen. Mitochondria, often called the body's energy engines, rely on oxygen to support cellular energy production. When you give the body more to work with under mild pressure, you are supporting the natural systems already working hard every day.
